How do I know if I need a Coach?
Let’s be real. Are you unhappy with your life? Do you have a goal or vision for your life and you’ve been hoping to one day accomplish it, dreaming about it, thinking about it, talking about it, and you still haven’t done it? The time for a coach is now. Your life is too important to continue being unhappy. Change is on the other side of action.
As a Family therapist, I provided Therapy, also called counseling or psychotherapy as a healthcare professional. In most cases, we focused on past traumas and issues deconstructed self-destructive habits, repaired relationships and worked through and past painful feelings and thoughts. In this sense, therapy focuses on the past, self-discovery, analysis of thoughts, behaviors, and feelings as well as teaching coping skills. Life coaching tends to focus on the present, encouraging and focusing on specific professional projects, personal goals and desired transitions. This coaching entails analyzing current situations, identifying poisonous beliefs, existing and potential challenges, and devising a plan of action designed to achieve specific outcomes.
As a Personal Development Coach who is results based, my proprietary coaching practices do not ignore the past hurts and traumas. I address the past which has brought my client to their current state, provided the experiences of their story, formed and ingrained thought patterns and reinforced behaviors that are not creating the life my clients desire. While the negative power of the past is decreased, the client’s present is the perfect point for action-based heart and mind work that clarifies goals, identifies obstacles, dismantles limiting beliefs, and extinguishes problematic behaviors in order to create action plans to achieve desired results.
